According the reports by Reuters, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd on Sunday disclosed that the sale of its mobile handsets on annual basis, has gone beyond the benchmark of 300 million units. The company has reached this benchmark for the first time in its complete history.

Samsung today enjoys the position of the second largest mobile manufacturer in the world and was very ecstatic to reveal that the sales figures have broken the records by the end of last month.

Samsung sold 280 million Handsets in 2010


“We look forward to extending this success going into 2012,” shared Mr. JK Shin, the President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business.

The two heroes in the phenomenal success of Samsung are considered to be Galaxy S smartphone series – Galaxy S and II, which have done noteworthy contributions to the results.

Galaxy II which was introduced this year in April was an instant hit with the customers and hence registered a record of solely selling over 10 million unit sales for Samsung.
