Last year was an enormously successful year for smartphones and this year is going to be just as big. Although Samsung has coined the phrase “the next big thing is here,” it seems that in our fast-paced world, the next big thing is being released almost daily. If you are a device junkie, there are a few new releases to look forward to in the next few months. Here are the biggest smartphone releases we will see over the course of the next few months:

Apple iPhone 6

Details on the iPhone 6 have been sparse, but we can assume it will ship with iOS 8 which further integrates mobile devices with Macs and provides a tighter end-user experience. Rumors persist that iPhone 6 will ship two different models: a 5.5 inch model and the standard 4.7 inch model. The 5.5 inch model is rumored to include Sapphire glass which is much sturdier and will resist scratches and cracks.

LG G3

LG is following up their disappointing LG G3 with what appears to be a strong showing. The G3 is 5.5 inches with resistant gorilla glass, built with a floating arc that allows the large phone to fit comfortably in your hand. The phone focuses on display quality and has the highest pixel resolution of any smartphone. Hopefully this device has better success than previous attempts.

Motorola Moto X+1

The Moto X+1 looks to improve on the Moto X which was a strong mid-range phone, but no match for the high-end options. The rumored specs for the Moto X+1, however, look ready to give them a run for their money. It will likely to come with 2 GB RAM, a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of storage, a powerful processor and a 5-inch 1080p display. It will come out of the box with the latest version of the Android operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Samsung created the phone/tablet hybrid market with the original Galaxy Note and based on the rumored specs of the Note 4, their legacy is going to continue. The Note 4 is confirmed to carry 4GB RAM and a powerful battery that can last days without a charge. It is rumored to carry a 16-core 64-bit processor, 128GB of internal storage and a 5.7 inch flexible 3D display. This display is rumored to allow the user to split the screen and view more than one window at a time.

Google Nexus 6

The Google Nexus 6 has not been officially confirmed, but rumors persist that the sequel to this popular phone is on its way. The Nexus series is known for top quality and killer specs, and this new device would be no different. The phone is rumored to include either a quad-core 64-bit chipset that clocks in at 1.5GHz or an octa-core 2.0GHz device. It will likely grow a bit, but speculations are still floating concerning how big it will actually be.

No matter where your smartphone loyalties lie, there are exciting releases coming up for every kind of user. It will be interesting to see the shift in the market as some consumers find new loyalty, and some brands rise while others may falter. Much of the buzz surrounding smartphone releases are still just hearsay and speculation, so we will have to wait until release day to know the truth. Hopefully you are ready, because the next big things are here.
