The smartphone market was never as exciting. New entrants with exclusive launches are heating this space even more. At times like such, I am glad to present my viewers the release information and features of the much talked about Google phone. Yes we are talking about the new Nexus smartphone, which is referenced as Nexus X and popularly also known as Nexus 6. Nexus 6 is the next flagship Android smartphone from Google which launches next month with Android L. The 5.9 inch phablet made by Motorola is big, not too big though. You can even reach at the top of the screen with your thumb while holding it in your palm. In size, it is similar to the size of Samsung Note 4 and slightly smaller than Apple’s new phablet.

Nexus 6 looks a lot like a bigger Moto X and comes with front facing stereo speakers with the same color as the bodywork. The beautifully presented aluminum surrounds and the same 13MP camera sensor, with optical stabilization and dual-LED flash, gives it the looks of Moto’s own-brand device.
Although, the release date is not officially out yet but can be traced as we look at the release pattern of the other Google handsets i.e. Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 which were launched in October and went on for sale on Google Play during November. The dates are not confirmed but looking at the launch trend we presume Google to unveil its Motorola built Nexus 6 sometime by the end of October.
The phone comes with loads of rich features. Its big 5.9” screen makes it a perfect hand held phablet. It comes with a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera (upgraded from 8MP rear and 1.3MP front camera in Nexus 5). Its 3200mAh battery is best in class, even surpassing iPhone 6 and other smartphones in this category.
The Nexus 6 is likely to be the first device to carry Google’s Android L update. Android L is one of the most significant update made by Google on its mobile platform. With this, Google attempts to unify Android’s feel on all the platforms and make the “Google Experience” similar on all products and platforms.
Google has also offered additional design tools to Android developers. Let’s have a look at these key elements –
Material Design: With this Google clarifies its intentions to evolve Android beyond just smartphones and tablets. The flexible structure allows apps to express bold colors and a variety of responsive UI patterns and themeable elements.
Android Runtime (ART):  Android L Developer introduces the Android Runtime (ART) as a system default. It offers increased performance with better ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation, an improvised and resourceful garbage collection and efficient development and debugging features.
Advanced Camera Capabilities: These are a bunch of camera centric APIs that lets raw sensor data, controls exposure time, frame duration and much more.
Project Volta: Google has developed a new tool to let you understand the power consumption of different apps in your device. The new Android L will enable job scheduling to minimize battery effect.
