Google Enterprise leader Amit Singh recently announced that the company was preparing to reveal some huge wins for Google Apps and today his promise came true.

You might not be familiar with Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA(BBVA) which is a Spanish financial services company but it has got about 110,000 employees across 26 countries and all of them will be Gmail users by the end of this year 2012, according to CIO Jose Olalla, who trumpeted the win in a guest post on the official Google blog earlier this morning.

According to the reports, this is the biggest enterprise win that Google has ever revealed.

In 2011, Google was about to sign a big deal with GM for 100,000 employees but both the companies never confirmed that deal officially.

Along with this deal, some of the other deals could be in government and education, two sectors in which Google has had more success.

But every Google Apps win is one less sale for Microsoft’s Office 365 and its associated products like Exchange Server. Those products have been Microsoft’s chief growth engine for the last year.

Microsoft’s competing service, Office 365, sold more than 5 million licenses in its first three months after its launch and the company will most probably disclose more progress on its next earnings call on Jan. 19 this year.

At the Web 2.0 Summit, two months ago Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said that Microsoft still wins in the majority of accounts where it goes up against Google Apps.
