Internet Giant Google, despite of getting warnings from the European Union that it might infringe European law, has gone ahead and implemented its new privacy policy today.

Now, the new privacy policy will permit Google to incorporate data it collects about you from all of your Google accounts. So instead of treating your Google+, Gmail and YouTube accounts as separate entities, Google will now sees you as just one user. This should make it simpler to target you with appropriate ads.

But since Google first declared the change in a blog post on Jan. 24, the strategy has made some people suspicious about the new privacy policy. France’s official data-protection agency has already started an interrogation to check whether the changes violate the European privacy law or not.

By clearing your web searches history and pages visited will not prevent Google from collecting information about you. However, it will prevent Google from sending you customized search results and will make the collection of your surfings and searches fractionally anonymized after 18 months, according to the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) advocacy group. Similarly, you can also carry out a same maneuver with your YouTube search and viewing histories.

If you think that Google‘s new policy will allow the company to know too much about you, there are a couple of small and simple steps which you can perform before to have some measure of control.

3. Click the “Remove all Web History” button.
4. Click “OK.”
5. Your Google web history will now be deleted and remain disabled until you decide to enable it again.
